Q: Where are KT PRO Tools made?
A: KT PRO (King Tony) tools are exclusively made in Taiwan and sold all over the globe under many private label brand names. King Tony has been manufacturing hand tools for global markets for over 40 years.
Q: Who is KT PRO Tools, I’ve never heard of this brand?
A: KT PRO is a professional tool line made by King Tony Tools. King Tony is one of the largest hand tool manufacturers in the world; they are a private label manufacturer as the majority of their products are made for other companies to sell under numerous brand names (many of which you have heard of). KT Pro is the name used by King Tony to sell tools under their own name and it is only recently that the line has been brought into the United States.
Q: What is the Warranty of KT PRO Tools?
A: KT Pro Tools feature a lifetime warranty* on almost all of their hand tools.
*Torque wrenches have a 1 (one) year warranty and ratchet handles have a lifetime warranty but the ratchet mechanism is not covered by the warranty. However, rebuild kits for ratchet mechanisms on regular ratchet handles and torque wrenches are available.
Q: How do I make a warranty claim for a KT PRO Tool?
A: Common Motor will take care of any warranty claim on KT PRO tools purchased through Common Motor. Send photo documentation of the broken tool via email through the Common Motor website as well as your order number and we will take it from there. In certain cases, it may be necessary to have a tool mailed back to CMC for warranty evaluation.

Q: Why is Common Motor carrying KT PRO tools and why is this the brand to buy?
A: For many years we have been looking for a tool line that was a good balance between professional quality and affordability. We all need tools to work on our vintage bikes, but the choices of quality tools have dwindled in the last 20 years. For many folks as well as ourselves, the “go-to” tool brand was Sears Craftsman, which used to be made in the USA. Those days are gone and Craftsman is now just a “brand name” under which tools are now made overseas. Additionally, there are many tool brands that have popped up on the (internet) market with questionable quality. On the other end of the spectrum, the big 4 professional tool brands (Snap-on, Matco, Mac & Corwell) make quality tools but cost a fortune to purchase. That leaves the average person building a toolbox with limited choices of affordable quality tools to invest in (yes tools are an investment).
When we started using KT Pro Tools we were very impressed not only with the quality of the tools but the fact they have an extensive line of METRIC 6-point tools available, which is what we need for vintage Japanese motorcycles. It is amazing how many tool sets are still sold here in the USA that are full of SAE (standard - fractional inch) sized tools with mostly 12-point sockets. Unless you are working on an old US-made car, engines, or machinery predating the mid-1980s, most SAE tools will be collecting dust in your toolbox.
Q: Are the KT PRO Phillips screwdrivers JIS?
A: No, both the normal and heavy-duty Phillips screwdrivers are regular #1-#4 sized tips.
