Every 1,500 miles (2,400 Kilometers) the standard tune-up procedure needs to be done on the Honda CB350 series of motorcycle (CB350 / CL350 Scrambler / SL350). The oil needs to be changed, the cam chain must be tensioned, the engine valves and rocker arms need to be adjusted, and the ignition timing needs to be set. In this video we explain the reference marks on the rotor, show the adjustment process for the cam chain and perform the valve or rocker arm clearance adjustment on this CB350 engine. We also introduce what we call the "overshoot method" of setting valves by using a feeler gauge that is 0.001" larger than the factory specifications to ensure ample clearance (better to be a tad loose than tight). The same process is done for all 4 engine valves.
*Be sure to have your engine on the center stand when the inspection cover is open. A small amount of oil will dribble out. If you have a large amount come out when opening the cover you either have too much oil in the engine or are on the motorcycle's side stand.
