How to clean the oil filter on the Honda CB350 / CL350 / SL350

The Honda CB350 / CL350 / SL350 family of motorcycles have a centrifugal oil filter system rather than a paper filter element. The oil rotor (filter) spins at high speed and causes any dirt particles to be pressed to the inside of the rotor cup, while the clean oil is pumped out. The rotor should be opened up and cleaned every other oil change (3000 miles / 5000 KM). CB350 engines make this easy with a small cover on the right side of the engine. This is also a good time to clean any debris off the oil pump pick-up screen.
