Engine & Transmission
The Honda 450cc family of engines was built from 1965 to 1974 and was used in the CB450, CL450 Scrambler & CB500T family of motorcycles. The engine is a dual overhead cam with torsion bar valve springs. The block is an inline two cylinder at 444cc with 5 speed transmission (K0 models had a 4-speed). The last variant of the engine is late CB500T built from 1975-1976 which uses the same architecture as the CB450, but the stroke was increased to bring the total engine to 498cc in size.
