The Ride Continues! In part 8 of our Long Haul project we ride our 1974 Honda CB450 K7 from the 2018 AMA Vintage Days on north west.
We bed down in Columbus at CMC Satellite Station #1 do a bit of tune up work on the bike and some adjustments to make things more comfortable on the latter 2/3 of our trip. Handlebars were upgraded, crash bar installed, faulty ignition coil replaced and we popped on a beta of our new electronic Shockwave Ignition system.
While the other guys roll back to Houston on their CB360 & CB550, the Long Haul CB450 is taken up to Detroit and cut across the state of Michigan while on the way to the U.P. (Upper Peninsula).
Then we head west across to Wisconsin and into central Minnesota for some family time. While headed south we ducked into the Moto Collective in Minneapolis to do a tune up, oil change and adjustments before heading straight south to Texas while doing an IBA Saddle Sore Iron Butt 1000. This is over 1000 miles of motorcycle riding in 24 hours or less; which brought us back home to Houston, TX. Over 5000 miles were logged on this vintage machine and there are still more to come.
