In this video we demonstrate a very simple and effective technique to deck or level the sealing surfaces for a head gasket on your vintage Honda motorcycle engine. With time and age, these surfaces tend to warp or distort. If the surfaces are too distorted or uneven it will affect how well the head gasket is able to seal.
The goal here is to even out both the cylinder and head sealing surfaces to remove any high or low spots so both are as flat as possible. We are sanding off a very small amount of material on the cylinder and head surfaces; just enough so when you are installing a new head gasket on your Honda CB350 / CB360 / CB450 or CB550 engine you will get a good seal between surfaces of the cylinder deck and the head. Work Slowly and check your progress often.
Head gaskets are available in our Overhaul gasket kits.
