Applicability
This Used Parts Policy governs the sale of all used, refurbished, or previously installed parts sold through the Common Motor Collective website and its affiliate companies (“CMC”, “we”, “us”) via www.common-motor.com
Used Parts Sold AS-IS
All used parts sold are sold AS-IS and WITH ALL FAULTS, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing.
Used parts may show signs of age, wear, cosmetic blemishes, corrosion, patina, or prior use consistent with vintage motorcycle components.
30-Day Limited Functional Guarantee
Although used parts are sold AS-IS, CMC provides a 30-day limited functional guarantee from the date of delivery solely to confirm that the part is materially functional as described at the time of sale.
This limited guarantee applies only to the original purchaser and only if all conditions below are met.
What Is Covered
Within 30 days of delivery, CMC will address claims where:
- The incorrect part was shipped, or
- The part is materially non-functional upon receipt and cannot reasonably perform its intended basic function as described on the product page.
If a valid claim is approved, CMC may, at its sole discretion:
- Issue a replacement (if available), or
- Issue a refund for the purchase price of the part.
What Is NOT Covered
This policy does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic condition (rust, scratches, fading, patina, discoloration)
- Age-related degradation
- Improper installation or incorrect fitment
- Damage caused during installation or removal
- Modifications, repairs, or alterations of any kind
- Electrical components once installed
- Parts used for racing, competition, or non-intended purposes
- Consequential or incidental damages, including:
- Labor
- Installation or removal costs
- Towing
- Downtime
- Loss of use
Once a part has been installed, modified, or altered, it is no longer eligible for return or claim unless explicitly authorized in writing by CMC.
Replacement Claim Requirements
To initiate a replacement claim within the 30-day period, the customer must:
- Contact CMC
- Provide proof of purchase (order number)
- Provide photos and/or video clearly documenting the issue
- Return the part in the same condition as received (unless otherwise authorized)
Returns sent without prior approval may be refused.
Inspection & Determination
All returned parts are subject to inspection by CMC.
- If the claim is approved, a replacement or refund will be issued
- If the part is found to be functional, misused, improperly installed, or altered, the claim will be denied and the part may be returned at the customer’s expense
CMC’s determination after inspection is final.
No Other Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- No implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose apply to used parts
- No oral or written statements by CMC staff constitute a warranty beyond what is stated here
Limitation of Liability
CMC’s liability is strictly limited to the purchase price of the used part. Under no circumstances shall CMC be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Non-Transferable
This policy applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
