Trying to install the CB360 Handlebar controls

I can not get the CB360 handlebar controls to work. I have followed the wiring configuration, but the kill switch doesn't work. In the description of the controls, it states that you should use the bottom of the orignial controls (which I don't have) because it uses an extra black wire. 

Has anyone been able to get this working on their CB360 without having the original bottom part? I can get everything except the kill switch to work. 

Any help would be much appreciated.
