CB360 Wiring to the Kill Switch
I've read a few posts, and watch several “Electrical Troubleshooting” videos both from CMC and others, and I can't seem to work through my issues:
1. I have a 1976 CB360T, and I got it with a broken/missing Start Button. Being who I am, rather than trying to fix/replace the button, I sought to replace the entire unit. The original unit had the always on headlight, and I “wanted” a Headlight On/Off switch, so I purchased a vintage Kill switch with the On/Off. Now understanding that this may be causing me issues since there may be “safety” switch issues that I am running into. So question #1, can I use this “early CB360” kill switch on a motorcycle that has the “late” style safety integrated?
The reason I ask is because I have installed the replacement Kill switch, and the wiring seems to be a easy one-for-one, the kill switch works, the headlight switch works, but I can't get the Starter to engage using the button. I've checked and replaced the Solenoid, I've checked continuity of wiring to the Solenoid (Yellow/Red stripe wire), and the only thing I see, is that the Solenoid uses the Yellow/Red and Green/Red wires and I don't see that wire in the Kill switch, and in the wiring harness where the handlebar controls connect, the Green/Red wire doesn't have anything to connect to and therefore is sitting unused. Don't know what to connect there, or even if something should.
I'm losing my mind over this electrical stuff.
