Tips for a 1st time re-build/restoration 72 CB350 ?
Hi Everyone.
I will apologize in advanced for any newbie mistakes.
I am tearing down and rebuilding a CB350 for the 1st time.
I've done some minor repair and restoration work on cars but wanted to expand my abilites and thought bikes would be an easier entry point to engine work, rebuild, and restoration. (Fewer parts, smaller engines, less space required, and fewer things to paint)
I bought the bike for 1500 on FB marketplace. I expect to make mistakes, hopefully learn from them, and eventually end up with a running bike that looks good.
Before I get started wanted to ask if anyone had any tips or tricks for a first timer.
Example: "Don't forget to do ____" "You'll need ____ tool"
Also if anyone has any guides for teardowns other than what's available here or anything that really helped them I would appreciate a point in the right direction.

Hey Andrew,
I got into this pretty late in life too (son has me wrenching on his klx110 and DRZ125 all of the time). A friend saw an old bike for sale one day and pointed me in that guys direction and the rest is history:) Picked up a 1971 SL350 that hadn't run since 1991. Stored inside so in great condition for the most part. Started with the tank (rust bucket). Moved onto carbs. replaced as many dry rot pieces of rubber I could. Working on brakes and cables now. I am having fun learning as I go and that means a lot to me. I would say, compartmentallize and take your time. Common is a great source and then there is always the internets:)
